Hey everyone,

We've been trying to book a lot of gigs. School is pretty good also... tough classes. anyway, i have to go study, but i hope that you all come to the next big Blue Screen show! i'll try and get some video of the last show up on the site soon.

"Walton High School freshman Richard Miron plays the Tin Man in the musical "The Wiz," staged through Dec. 30 by True Colors Theatre Company at 7 Stages in Atlanta.
The 15-year-old toured nationally last year in "Seussical the Musical" with Cathy Rigby, and has appeared in commercials and a TV pilot for Nickelodeon. This year he performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in the opera "Green Eggs and Ham," in the Georgia All-State Chorus and in several theater productions.

Long Time No Talk
hey everyone,
i know its been a long time since i wrote in here. its been very busy. catch up: summer camp at French Woods 2004 was AMAZING. i did lots of shows and guitar playing and everything else. the shows i was in are as follows.
Pirates of Penzance - Major-General
Urinetown - Mr. McQueen
Chicago - Fred Casely
Cabaret Troupe
Seussical the Musical - ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
As the Major-General, i got to sing one of the most famous Gilbert and Sullivan songs: "Model of a Modern Major-General" which is a really really fast song with lots of words. it took me about 2 weeks to learn it, but it was worth it. It was awesome because i had never played a character like that, nor done a song quite that fast! ill try and put up a video clip sometime soon of that.
Urinetown was a show that was off-broadway and on broadway a few years ago, and i actually saw it when i was in NY during my "Seussical" rehearsals a few years ago. it is probably the funniest show i have ever done, and i had a lot of fun with my character, Mr. McQueen. this show was what is called a "Stock Show" at French woods, which means it was an extra show that about 20 kids they picked out of the entire camp got to perform at the end of the second session. basically that means the cast was awesome.. (the show is based in America in the not-so-distant future. a world-wide water shortage causes water to become a precious commodity, meaning no more private bathrooms. people must use public restrooms to do their private business and must pay, too. it takes place at Public Amenity #9, the "poorest, filthiest urinal in town." the poor people violently rebel, and stop "paying to pee." this show may seem weird and 'not funny', but the way it was written, the music, and feel of the whole show is hilarious and amazing. buy the soundtrack! you'll love it.)
i was fred casely in a great production of Chicago. and for some who think its just a stupid little part, you're right. but, fred doesnt just die at beginning and never come back, he also has a flash back courtroom scene at the end :)
i assistant directed what i consider to be my show (haha): Seussical. i didnt want to actually be in it, i told the director, so i just helped her direct. the cast was very well cast. haha. i helped everyone so much with character development and took notes and gave ideas based on my experience from my tour 2 years ago. honestly it was one of the best amature productions i have ever seen or helped with. it was really emotional for me to help and watch a production of a show i sort of originated in, so i was always trying to help the cast grasp it the way i picture it...
cabaret troupe at french woods was also a group of about 20 people chosen from the camp after a series of audition. we put together a show of about 10-15 popular songs (mostly rock/pop songs) where we would sing and dance in groups or individually. we travelled to Kutsher's Hotel and Resort to perform our show for mostly senior citizens. we performed for the camp also. I, personally, sang "Wild Horses" (by the Rolling Stones), had a solo in "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and was part of a Beatles medley, plus quite a few group numbers.
the rest of my summer was filled with songwriting, guitar, having an awesome time with everyone, and girls. french woods is LIFE, and my summer would be nothing without it. i cant begin to explain why it is so awesome, just everyone has similar interests as me and i connected with so many people on that level. once i got home and got back to school i realized how much i missed it.
anyway, now im in the competition one-act play for my high school, Walton High, "The Real Inspector Hound". i have a pretty big part, especially for a freshman, and i'm excited to do my first British comedy. i am mastering the british dialect, and this play is soooo funny. plus, i get to kiss a pretty hot senior girl (score!), so this play will be awesome.
anyway, about the band, Blue Screen, we have a bassist now, and our first gig will probably be mid-november at a battle of the bands. for now, to stay updated with us, check out www.bluescreenrock.tk. i've been writing a lot of songs, and when we put down a real demo, ill let you know. i gotta go do some homework!
peace,
rich
p.s. - new media material, and pictures, are on their way!

Camp and More Camp
i just finished a week at Camp Jam.. a camp in Atlanta for rock and roll... i went for guitar.. and was placed in a band where we worked on some songs for a few days to perform on Friday nights rock show. i played lead guitar in our band "Sandwich Head" and we played the songs "Buddy Holly" by Weezer, and "I Wanna Be Sedated" by the Ramones. the ending concert was really fun and turned out good.. ("Sandwich Head" is completely unrelated to "Blue Screen," my long-term band) I put up a little video clip of "Buddy Holly" in the Media section.
Anyway, nothing much new for Blue Screen, except i put up some recordings of a couple tracks they are NOT demos... just a little somethin if u wanna hear some songs i wrote with okay quality.. we will probably start up more with the band soon after i get home from camp. ill let u know.
im going to Long Island, New York soon to spend time with my family for about a week before i go to camp in upstate NY, French Woods for SIX weeks (long time, i know, but its fun). I cant wait.. ill be able to update the site from there too...
anyway, email me. miron. out.

Blue Screen
hey everyone.
summer is finally here! finally. since the summer started ive been busy. my sister graduated from high school (congrats Melissa), and we had a little grad party for her.

the name of my band is Blue Screen. Ben (drummer) and i were practicing at my house and we put down a few tracks a few days ago. once we get our bassist, we are gonna rock! anyway, i made a little band website (click here). its a free site, so its not the most professional looking site. ive written a lot of songs and they are in the process of being copyrighted. so once that is all done, well record a demo and ill let u all hear it.
i cant wait til i get my new guitar. im probably getting an Ibanez AXD71 guitar. its a semi-hollow body guitar, so i can play jazzy stuff on there and rock stuff and it will sound really really good.
my summer is gonna be busy. i have to read like 4 books for high school next year, plus i have to memorize every single country in the world for my social studies class. in a few weeks, i am going to go to New York with my sister to visit family for 5 days. from there, i go straight to camp in upstate New York. the camp is called French Woods. It's awesome! i went there last year and had a blast. i'm going this year for 6 weeks! itll be a lot of fun, because you can do almost anything there. from musicals to circus to basketball to waterskiing to almost anything else.
actingwise, i am still up for a few things right now, but i wont say what they are, cuz i dont wanna jinx it.
anyway, if i dont get back to u before i go to New York, dont worry. because at my camp (French Woods), we can go on the computers and use the internet. So i will update the Journal from there.
catch ya later,
Rich

All-State
hey.
last weekend was Georgia All State Chorus in Savannah. it was AWESOME. it was really hard to get in to it, so all the kids in the choruses were really good. we drove down to Savannah with 4 other girls from my grade at school who got in, on wednesday night. we stayed over at a hotel just outside of Savannah that night. it was so funny, in the van we were driving in, i was sitting in the back playing my acoustic guitar, and i was changing the tuning on the strings up for this certain song.. and my mom was like "no richard dont turn the high E up to a G, its gonna break!" and i said, "no it wont ive done this before," and the string popped. wutever, so it ruined the rest of the car ride, until in Savannah i bought another set of strings from a pawn shop. haha o well.
anyway we got to savannah, and i met up with some people i knew from other schools that were going. every day for 2 days (haha) we worked for hours and hours on like 7 songs. the best part was: everyone could sing on pitch! even just when we warmed up, the harmony was amazing. i was in the middle school mixed chorus and there were 275 7th and 8th graders in my chorus, 100 of them guys, which was good. not to say that the other 175 girls wasnt cool (wink wink)... anyway we had a great conductor, Janet Johnson, who was really nice and fun to work with too.
during our breaks for meals, i hung out w/ a friend of mine and the girls from my school and ate at restaurants and at our hotel. after rehearsals, at 9 pm on thurs and friday, i went to the indoor pool at our hotel, and there were tons of people from allstate there, all in one little pool! but overall, the best part of all state was meeting lots of people from other places in Georgia.. i met some cool girls.. haha u know who u are.
the concert was amazing and one of the songs, we did sign language to. we ordered a cd, so when i get it maybe i'll post a song or two as a media file on the site.
anyway, the band is comin together pretty well... no name yet.. bummer. and i'm writing so many songs its getting harder and harder to think of lyrics i havent already written! so once we get a show together, i'll let u know when and where the shows will be.
im outta here,
richard
